Hey everyone! I’m Indah and I’m so excited to be taking these minis classes!

Music has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been involved in music and dance education from the age of 5 and in that time I have performed at concerts, competed at eisteddfods and taught many dance classes. 

My approach to teaching focuses on creating a fun and supportive environment where each child can explore their love for music. In these classes, children will take part in many engaging activities that are designed to educate and build on their skills. This includes:

⁃Feathers and bubbles to build sensory skills.

⁃Timing exercises to learn how to count beats in music.

⁃Scarves to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

⁃Books to improve reading and listening skills.

⁃Obstacle courses to build problem solving skills.

As well as dancing, nursery rhymes and many different games to promote cooperative play and creativity. 

Hey everyone! My name is Jade and Im so glad to say that I will be taking on VAPA Minis for 2024, along side the wonderful Indah!

I’ve always had a strong passion for development and progress, especially with the earlier milestones and younger children. Prior to my role at VAPA, I was leading in Kindergarten, as well as working with other ages, while also creating music programs just like VAPA minis, but for centres! 

Children love to sing, listen to different sounds, make different sounds, as they are curious as to what the world has for them! By incorporating music into their learning fundamentals and skills, I’ve always seen such a great progress from various amounts of children, all in different aspects; whether it is becoming more confident within themselves and making friendships, discovering and knowing the different sounds of instruments, as well as different textures, focusing on the development of both their audible and visual skills. 

Another thing I also noticed and that I love to focus on is building up those fine motor and gross motor skills through fiddling with different instruments, using their bodies with movement to run and find the instruments in games like hide and seek. Music in general, is just a fantastic way for the children to learn more about sounds, create friendships, and learn to be themselves and build their confidence which helps lead them into further education such as school! 

Im so excited to see what the little munchkins have in store for me and I can’t wait to see the excitement and joy, seeing their passion and evolve. It’s such a rewarding experience for not only the children, but also the parents and of course, us teachers!

VAPA Minis is located in the Vocal Adrenaline Performing Arts facilities in Burleigh and Nerang on the Gold Coast!

The studios contains a waiting room, kitchen facilities and a bathroom and change table area available for use.

For the classes we use non-toxic baby-safe play mats and high quality instruments for your child to get started on their musical journey.

Our classes are kept to a maximum of 10 per class for the 0-3 age groups and 6 per class for the 4-5 years to ensure that there can be more individual attention, no one is left out and less distractions.
